Shortcut Keys or Hotkeys for the Mac. Most key combinations use the Command(⌘) key rather than the control key like most OS's. There are also key combinations that are useful at the startup sequence to deal with potential errors and booting.

Copy, Cut and Paste
Command(⌘) + C
Command(⌘) + X
Command(⌘) + V
Windows, navigation, closing, etc.
Cycle through applications/windows.
Command(⌘) + Tab
Quit current application
Command(⌘) + Q
Close current window
Command(⌘) + W
Force Quit current application
Command(⌘) + option + esc

Show Desktop, works more like a slide windows to the side. Press again to move windows back. *F3 is also known as the "Mission Control" key mission control key)
Command(⌘) + F3
Minimize current Window. Minimized windows will appear on the dock near the trash.
Command(⌘) + M
Minimize current application windows. Will minimize all terminal windows or all Office Windows, etc.
Command(⌘) + Option + M
Hide current Window. Hide will not show a minimized icon.

Hide current application windows. Will hide all terminal windows or all Office Windows, etc.
